Charge battery at off-peak price
The battery system stores excess power generated from the PV array to inject solar power to the grid and avoid restricting solar production. When solar production is weak, the battery will discharge to support load consumption.
PROVIDE BACKUP FOR CRITICAL LOADS
The battery stores solar power or takes energy from the grid for energy requirements during grid outage. Loads such as refrigerators, routers, lamps, computers and other critical appliances can be powered when the grid fails. The system can automatically switch to backup mode within 8 milliseconds.

By setting the charging and discharging time, the battery can be charged using electricity generated at off peak rates and discharged to power loads during peak hours.

The GoodWe ES series bi-directional energy storage inverter can be used for both on-grid and off-grid PV systems, with the ability to control the flow of energy intelligently. During the day, the PV array generates electricity which can be provided either to the loads, fed into the grid or charge the battery, depending on the economics and set-up. The electricity stored can be released when the loads require it during the night, including inductive loads such as air conditioners or refrigerators. Additionally, the power grid can also charge storage devices via the inverter. An all-round intelligent system for maximum energy flexibility.

AC-coupled retrofit inverter (LV)
The GoodWe SBP series is the world’s first AC-coupled battery storage retrofit solution with UPS function for single-phase and three-phase systems. It can effectively upgrade any existing string inverter system by adding a backup battery. Capable of being grid-interactive, it allows users to store surplus power and sell it back to the grid when demand peaks and the price of electricity is at its highest. With a UPS-level switching function (switching time <10 ms), the GoodWe SBP provides an uninterruptible power supply to inductive loads such as air conditioners or refrigerators. It runs reliably under even the most extreme conditions with metal aluminium housing with IP65 protection.

AC-coupled retrofit inverter (HV)
The GoodWe BT series is an AC-coupled retrofit inverter, which is able to upgrade existing three-phase on-grid PV systems to storage systems. The SEC is a smart energy controller entirely developed by GoodWe. When combined with a GoodWe solar inverter, it is able to achieve real-time data collection and analysis. Furthermore, the SEC can automatically adjust active power output, power factor and other parameters of a solar power plant. It can even limit AC output to the grid, which further distributes and allocates system resources more effectively. The SEC is composed of GoodWe's three-phase meter and control board. It can be connected with SEMS to control and manage the performance of inverters in each string. Small box, mighty functions!
