GoodWe Expands Sub-Saharan Africa Presence with Nairobi Office and EO G2 Launch

The expanded local presence brings technical support, training and partner engagement closer to customers as energy needs evolve across the region.

NAIROBI, Kenya, September 2026 — GoodWe has officially opened a new regional office in Nairobi, Kenya, further strengthening its local presence and support capabilities in Africa. The new facility provides a closer base for engagement with installers, distributors, EPCs and customers, while expanding access to technical training, product demonstrations and partner support.

The move reflects GoodWe’s broader localization strategy in Africa: combining global technology and engineering capabilities with stronger on-the-ground expertise. As renewable energy deployment accelerates across the region, the company sees local technical capability, hands-on installer training, and accessible after sales service. as increasingly important to ensuring energy solutions can be effectively deployed under diverse grid and operating conditions.

Bringing Expertise Closer to the Market

Kenya has established itself as one of Africa’s leading renewable energy markets, with renewables accounting for over 90% of the country’s electricity generation. At the same time, the next stage of its energy transition is bringing greater attention to areas including energy storage, system reliability, financing and local technical capacity.

These developments are also changing expectations of energy technology providers. Beyond access to equipment, successful deployment increasingly depends on appropriate system design, installation quality, commissioning expertise and long-term technical support.

The Nairobi office is designed to strengthen these capabilities locally. With dedicated space for technical training and product demonstrations, it will enable GoodWe to work more closely with partners, support hands-on learning and respond more directly to market and project requirements.

“Being closer to the market allows us to better understand the real challenges our customers and partners face and respond with both the right technologies and the right support,” said Lucas Lu, Managing Director of Africa at GoodWe. “Localization is an important part of how we create long-term value in Africa.”

Responding to Real Local Energy Needs

GoodWe’s recent activities in Kenya also demonstrate how this localization approach extends to its product portfolio.

The company recently introduced its EO G2 off-grid inverter to the Kenyan market, designed for households and small businesses operating in off-grid conditions or areas with unreliable grid supply. Supporting generator integration, 200% PV oversizing and parallel operation, the solution is designed to provide greater flexibility in managing local energy needs, while IP66-rated protection ensures dependable system performance in rain, dust and extreme heat.

The EO G2 reflects a broader shift GoodWe is seeing across African markets: customers increasingly require not only solar technology, but energy systems capable of delivering reliable power under real-world local conditions.

By combining solutions tailored to these needs with stronger local training, technical support and partner engagement, GoodWe aims to move beyond simply supplying products and build deeper, longer-term capabilities within the markets it serves.

The Nairobi office marks another step in that direction, bringing global technology closer to local needs, supported by local knowledge, relationships and expertise.
