GoodWe successfully hosted the GoodWe Energy Innovation Summit Romania 2026 on May 28 in Bucharest, bringing the ESA All-in-One energy storage to the next stop on its launch roadmap through Europe. Following successful launch events in the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and Germany, Romania marked the fourth European stage for the introduction of GoodWe’s new-generation residential and small commercial energy storage solution.
As the Romanian solar sector continues to evolve from rapid PV adoption towards more advanced energy management models, storage is becoming an increasingly important part of system design. Rising interest in self-consumption, backup capability, smart load management and integrated residential energy solutions is reshaping the way homeowners, businesses and installers approach photovoltaic investments.
The event gathered around 80 photovoltaic installers, distributors, energy professionals, strategic partners and local market stakeholders for a full day of product innovation, market dialogue, technical sessions and business networking.
From photovoltaic systems to complete smart energy ecosystems
The event in Bucharest also built on GoodWe's wider European direction integrating solar, storage, EV charging, heating and smart energy management into one unified ecosystem. This strategy was reflected in Romania, where GoodWe positioned the ESA-Series All-in-One energy storage not as a standalone product, but as part of a broader transition towards integrated energy ecosystems. In this model, homes and businesses are no longer passive energy consumers, they become active participants capable of producing, storing, managing and optimizing their own energy.
For the Romanian market, this shift is particularly relevant. The next phase of PV development will not be defined by the number of installed systems, but by intelligent design and interaction with household or commercial consumption. The new benchmark for photovoltaic systems is in its effective support for grid stability, energy independence and long-term savings.
GoodWe's approach is built around a complete portfolio that connects solar inverters, modular battery storage, EV charging, heat pump technology and smart energy management. For installers, this creates the possibility of simplified system design, fewer compatibility concerns and a clearer service structure. For end users, it means a more reliable, future-ready and user-friendly energy experience.

Strategic direction for the Romanian market
GoodWe highlighted the strategic importance of Romania within its European growth plan, underlining the need for stronger local partnerships, installer education, technical support and product availability adapted to market demand.

“Romania is an important market in GoodWe’s European strategy, not only because of its strong solar potential, but because the market is now ready for the next step: smarter systems, integrated storage and complete energy solutions. With ESA All-in-One and our broader ecosystem, we aim to support installers, distributors and end users with technologies that are reliable, scalable and prepared for the future of energy,” said Jie Zhang, Managing Director of GoodWe Europe.
Technology adoption and the future of smart energy
The summit also included a special keynote session by George Buhnici, one of Romania’s most recognized voices in technology and sustainability. His participation added a broader consumer and technology perspective to the event, connecting the technical development of solar and storage solutions with the way Romanian homeowners are beginning to understand smart homes, energy independence and digital energy management.

This perspective was particularly relevant in a market where customers are increasingly looking not only for photovoltaic panels, but for complete solutions that help them reduce dependency on the grid, optimize consumption and prepare their homes for future energy needs.
ESA All-in-One at the center
During the dedicated ESA All-in-One launch session, Nicușor Răducan, Customer Success Manager, GoodWe Romania & Hungary, presented the market trends driving demand for energy storage and explained how the new solution addresses the practical needs of Romanian installers and end users.

The session covered the system's key features, residential and small C&I applications, integration with the GoodWe ecosystem and real project implementation examples. The focus was strongly practical, giving installers a clear understanding of how ESA All-in-One can be positioned, designed and implemented in real market scenarios.
Designed to meet the growing demand for smart, efficient and scalable storage solutions, the ESA-Series combines a hybrid inverter, modular battery storage and intelligent energy management into one integrated platform, offering an experience following GoodWe's 4 S philosophy: smart, silent, secure, and simple.
Market dialogue with Romania's PV value chain
A dedicated industry panel brought together representatives from across the Romanian photovoltaic value chain, including technology communication, distribution, installation support and product expertise. By bringing together perspectives from GoodWe, ROMSTAL, KENO Energy, Krannich Solar and the technology media environment, the panel offered a grounded view of where the Romanian market is heading: Towards more integrated solutions, stronger professionalization of the installer ecosystem and greater demand for storage-ready energy systems.

The panel explored how the market is shifting from classic PV-only installations towards PV-plus-storage systems, especially as more customers seek higher self-consumption, backup options and better control over energy costs. Another important topic was the need to build customer trust around energy storage. While interest in batteries is growing, end users still need clear explanations regarding system sizing, payback expectations, backup functionality, warranty, safety and long-term performance.
The panel also addressed the importance of local support, training and reliable after-sales processes. As Romania's PV market continues to expand, long-term success will increasingly depend on the quality of system design, correct commissioning and the ability of technology providers to support installers throughout the full project lifecycle.
Expanding the portfolio: ESA ATHENA, C&I solutions and GOODHEAT R290
In the afternoon, GoodWe presented additional technologies from its growing smart energy portfolio.
The ESA ATHENA product presentation introduced micro-storage DIY solution in GoodWe's residential and flexible energy portfolio, underlining the company's commitment to supporting different customer needs and application scenarios like balcony solar.
This was followed by a C&I Product Presentation delivered by Jonas Ding, Technical Product Director at GoodWe Europe, focusing on commercial and industrial energy storage systems, hybrid inverter solutions for commercial applications, system architecture and integration with PV, storage, STS and backup solutions.

The C&I session addressed one of the most relevant growth areas for the Romanian market, where businesses are increasingly evaluating PV and storage not only as sustainability investments, but also as tools for energy cost control, operational resilience and improved energy predictability.
GoodWe also introduced GOODHEAT R290, its heat pump solution designed to support efficient and sustainable heating. Together with PV, storage, EV charging and smart energy management, GOODHEAT R290 strengthens GoodWe's position as a provider of complete energy solutions for modern homes and buildings.
Beyond strategic presentations and product launches, a dedicated Q&A and technical session for installers covered C&I system architecture, design principles, utility-scale PV and storage solutions, best practices and real project insights.
