Sri Lanka's Energy Future Takes Center Stage at GoodWe and SLSEA's Solar + Storage Forum 2026

Sri Lanka's Energy Future Takes Center Stage at GoodWe and SLSEA's Solar + Storage Forum 2026-Latest News from GoodWe

GoodWe ranked as Sri Lanka's No. 1 Rooftop Solar Storage Brand

GoodWe, a world-leading PV inverter manufacturer and smart energy solutions provider, successfully hosted the Solar + Storage Forum 2026 at Marino Beach, Colombo, in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Sustainable Energy Authority (SLSEA). The event drew over 400 attendees from across Sri Lanka's renewable energy sector, reflecting strong interest in GoodWe's storage solutions and the country's growing push towards solar and battery energy adoption.

Attendees included Hon. Anura Karunathilaka, Minister of Energy, Mr. G.M.R.D. Aponsu, Secretary to the Ministry of Energy, and Prof. Wijendra J. Bandara, Chairman of SLSEA, alongside senior government officials and industry leaders.

Speaking at the event, Hon. Anura Karunathilaka, Minister of Energy, said: "Sri Lanka's clean energy future depends on strong collaboration between government, industry, and technology leaders. Forums such as this play a vital role in fostering innovation, attracting investment, and accelerating the deployment of renewable energy solutions."

Mr. G.M.R.D. Aponsu, Secretary to the Ministry of Energy, added: "As Sri Lanka continues to increase the share of renewable energy in its generation mix, energy storage technologies and grid modernization will become critical enablers."

Solar and storage at the heart of Sri Lanka's energy roadmap

Sri Lanka's power sector has long relied on hydropower, thermal power, and imported fuels, leaving it exposed to cost volatility and supply disruptions. As the country leans further into solar and wind to reduce that exposure, storage becomes essential to keeping supply steady through the day.

This shift is reflected in Sri Lanka's own targets: 70% renewable electricity by 2030, on the way to a carbon-neutral power sector by 2050. With over a decade of inverter expertise, GoodWe organized the Solar + Storage Forum 2026 to bring together the people working on this transition — government, industry, and technology providers alike.

The agenda also featured a session on China's export tax policy and the impact of raw material prices on PV and battery pricing, presented by Shanghai Materials Market (SMM), a panel discussion on the Future of Energy Storage in Sri Lanka, a C&I ESS case study and GoodWe's utility-scale BESS solutions.

Continuing to lead the market as Sri Lanka's No.1 Rooftop Solar Energy Storage Brand

GoodWe has been deeply rooted in the local market for 13 years and has earned trust from installers, EPCs and end users through its reliable products, localized services and continuous technological innovation. To better serve customers in Sri Lanka, GoodWe has established a nationwide localized service network: an experienced technical team is always on call, and with sufficient spare parts inventory and an extensive dealer network, it helps ensure timely and efficient support for customers.

Showcasing next-generation residential and C&I storage solutions

As part of the forum, GoodWe showcased its latest residential and C&I energy storage portfolio, highlighting the company's continued product innovation. Featured solutions included the Lynx U G3 paired with ES Uniq, the ET LV Series, and the Lynx A G4. Built around GoodWe's innovative CoreLock concept, these solutions seamlessly integrate the battery and inverter into a unified, one-stop energy storage system. For commercial, industrial and large-scale projects, GoodWe also presented DC-coupled, AC-coupled and AC/DC integrated energy storage solutions. These solutions support new solar+storage projects, retrofits of existing PV systems, and large-scale energy applications, demonstrating GoodWe's comprehensive capabilities across products and systems.

Also on display was the ESA-Athena, a compact all-in-one solar-plus-storage system designed for balconies and small spaces.

James Hou, Sales Head for APAC at GoodWe, said: "As the No. 1 Rooftop Solar Storage supplier in the residential and C&I markets, GoodWe is committed to supporting Sri Lanka's clean energy transition and advancing the role of solar and storage in achieving the country's renewable energy goals."

The second edition of the Solar + Storage Forum marked another step in strengthening collaboration between government, industry, and technology providers, supporting Sri Lanka's vision of a greener, more energy-secure future.
