GoodWe Launches EO G2 Off-Grid Solution in Africa, Delivering Reliable Energy Access with Long-Term System Value

GoodWe Launches EO G2 Off-Grid Solution in Africa, Delivering Reliable Energy Access with Long-Term System Value-Latest News from GoodWe

GoodWe, a global leading solar energy solutions provider, today announced the launch of EO G2, a next-generation off-grid inverter solution designed to address the evolving energy needs of African households, small businesses and communities. Combining robust environmental adaptability, flexible energy expansion and integrated safety features, EO G2 is engineered to deliver reliable power and stronger lifetime value in challenging environments.

Power outages, grid instability, limited rural grid coverage and continued reliance on diesel generators continue to create challenges for households and businesses across many African markets. “The challenge is no longer simply access to solar energy, but ensuring reliable power supply under real local conditions,” said Lucas LU, Managing Director of Africa at GoodWe.

“Energy users are increasingly looking beyond upfront cost and evaluating solutions based on their lifetime value, including reliability, durability and ongoing service support. Durability, environmental adaptability and long-term service support are becoming essential factors in this decision-making process. GoodWe’s EO G2 has been developed with these priorities in mind, providing a resilient solution tailored to the realities of African markets,” LU added.

Designed for Harsh Environments

EO G2 is built to operate reliably in demanding conditions commonly found across Africa. With an IP66 protection rating, EO G2 helps prevent the impact of moisture, dust and environmental exposure on system performance. Its fully enclosed housing, patented locking cover, and extra-wide sealing gasket—2 to 3 times wider than typical market designs—provide enhanced resistance to ingress.

The inverter supports reliable operation from -35°C to +60°C, enabling stable performance across extreme climate conditions, from cold regions to hot and dusty environments. The solution also integrates GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) protection, enabling real-time fault detection and instant circuit shutdown to enhance operational safety.

Optimizing Long-Term Value Through System Efficiency and Reliability

In real-world applications, the initial equipment price is only one part of the overall investment. Frequent replacements, maintenance requirements and system downtime can significantly increase the total cost of ownership over the system lifecycle.

EO G2 is designed around a long-term value proposition, helping customers reduce replacement and service burdens while maximizing energy investment returns. With a 21A PV input current, EO G2 is compatible with mainstream high-power PV modules. The inverter enables 200% PV oversizing, allowing greater solar harvesting and higher energy yields.

When paired with the Lynx A G4 low-voltage battery, the system delivers a complete inverter-plus-storage solution optimized for long-term performance. The Lynx A G4 battery supports up to 10,000 charge cycles and delivers up to 53MWh of lifetime energy throughput. Based on a typical household energy consumption of 5kWh per day, this represents 18 years of potential energy usage over the battery’s lifetime.

The battery supports configurations across different capacity combinations and allows the integration of new and existing battery units with an MPU (Mix Parallel Unit). For example, customers can start with a 5kWh storage capacity and scale their system as energy needs grow, reducing upgrade complexity while protecting their long-term energy investment. The system features a multi-layer safety architecture that provides comprehensive protection through intelligent detection, cell-level isolation and active fire suppression.

A Flexible Energy Platform for Diverse Applications

EO G2 is designed to support the diverse energy scenarios found across African markets. The system can integrate solar, storage, generators, on-grid inverters and smart loads, enabling customers to build a more resilient energy ecosystem based on their specific needs.

Paired with Lynx A G4 battery, EO G2 provides backup power with a switching time of under 4 milliseconds, helping maintain continuous operation of household loads such as lighting, refrigeration and other critical equipment during grid outages. For small businesses, it provides a reliable power foundation to support daily operations and reduce the impact of power interruptions.

EO G2 also enables future system expansion, supporting parallel operation of up to 10 units for flexible off-grid power configurations.

Simplified Deployment and AI-Powered Energy Management

EO G2 simplifies system commissioning through pre-configured parameters and an integrated 4.3-inch touchscreen, enabling fast setup without additional devices. Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity further support wireless commissioning and real-time system monitoring via mobile app.

Powered by five AI-enabled functions— Agent, Health, Troubleshooting, Forecast, and EMS — EO G2 supports system monitoring, diagnostics, energy forecasting and intelligent energy management.

With the introduction of EO G2, GoodWe is strengthening its commitment to delivering resilient and accessible energy solutions for emerging markets. By combining environmental adaptability, long-term reliability, flexible system expansion and intelligent energy management, EO G2 is designed to help households, businesses and communities overcome power challenges and build more sustainable energy independence.
