The city of Shanghai took centre stage once again this week, as thousands of PV professionals from around the world gathered at the SNEC PV Power Expo, which retained its position as one of the most influential solar tradeshow in Asia and the world. 

GoodWe presented its HT series, the latest 1500 V string inverter for utility projects, as well as its storage and battery products for the residential sector and C&I.


Strength in Utility: HT 225-250 kW

The new HT-Series has been described as the most advanced 1500 V solution for large scale projects, as it incorporates different sets of technical strengths to achieve higher savings in the installation, enhance productivity and minimize O&M, all while taking safety to the maximum possible level in accordance with the strictest national and international standards. This product comes with two options on DC input current per string, both 15A and 20A, which makes it perfectly compatible with the latest 182mm and 210mm high-power bifacial modules on the market. Every feature of this unique product has been developed with the plant owner and operator in mind.  

Storage Solutions

As the global leader in storage inverters, hundreds of visitors flocked to GoodWe’s booth eager to learn more about its storage products and solutions. Besides its storage products, GoodWe’s solar batteries were also on display, showcasing Goodwe’s strength in providing complete high-quality energy storage solutions. Both low voltage and high voltage batteries are present in GoodWe’s portfolio, as well as single phase and three phase inverters, offering the best, widest and most complete storage portfolio available on the market.

C&I storage

GoodWe BTC Series is a three-phase, AC retrofit inverter suitable for peak-shaving and can be connected with high-voltage batteries ranging from 200 to 865V. It follows a simple, Plug & Play modular design consisting of four sections (DC/DC, DC/AC, STS & EMS modules). It can switch to backup mode in less than 10ms and ensures continuous power supply for critical loads. It does not require perfect balance when operating in backup mode, allowing for each phase to supply power to the loads individually. The active, reactive power and power factor of this inverters is fully adjustable, which makes it suitable for application on micro-grids and ensures grid stability for the whole PV system. It offers 10% continuous AC overloading on backup side for maximum power output and remote shutdown function for system safety.

Battery Ready Concept

GoodWe has pioneered the battery ready concept. The single phase EH series, as well as the three phase ETR series offer users the option of purchasing a grid inverter that can be immediately unlocked and converted into a storage inverter by simply purchasing an activation code. This solution has proven very successful in markets where storage has not yet reached its full potential or where market regulations are in the development phase.


It probably comes as no surprise that the hottest topics at SNEC this year were the rising cost of solar modules, as well as scarcity of components. Yet, despite general concerns, most industry stakeholders remain optimistic about the industry’s growth trajectory, especially in Greater China where the economy and supply chains have fully recovered and, in some cases, even surpassed pre-pandemic levels.
