GoodWe Powers Stable Rice Milling in Myanmar with Tailored C&I Solar-Plus-Storage Solutions

GoodWe Powers Stable Rice Milling in Myanmar with Tailored C&I Solar-Plus-Storage Solutions-Latest News from GoodWe

In Myanmar, where power supply remains unstable and energy costs continue to rise, GoodWe is helping industrial customers secure reliable electricity through tailored commercial and industrial (C&I) solar-plus-storage solutions.

At Aung Khit Mie Rice Mill Factory in Yangon, GoodWe deployed a customized system consisting of three ET 50 kW hybrid inverters and three BAT 112 kWh battery units, delivering long-term reliable power and strong economic value to support stable, uninterrupted rice production.

Customer Pain Points: Unstable Power, High Costs, and Demanding Industrial Loads

Unstable Power Supply and Rising Energy Costs:To cope with frequent outages, many rice mills in Myanmar resort to diesel generators. However, rising fuel prices have increased processing costs by over 30%. Generators also bring noise, frequent maintenance requirements, and emissions. Meanwhile, outages can cause equipment damage, material loss, and order penalties—putting mill owners under heavy operational pressure.

Harsh Operating Environment: The rice mill relies on waterway transport and is located near the river. This results in persistently high humidity, while loading and handling generate heavy dust—creating a challenging environment for long-term equipment reliability.

Heavy Inductive Loads and High Starting Power Demand: Husking machines and conveyors are heavy inductive loads with high starting power demand. If the system cannot handle the start-up surge, faults may occur—damaging equipment and disrupting production.

“GoodWe’s solution allows our mill to keep running without being limited by the unstable grid,” said the mill owner. “It gives us reliable power, lower operating costs, and far more confidence in day-to-day production.”

Solution Value:A Reliable and Cost-Effective Energy Solution for Industrial Operations

Lower Cost, Stronger Returns: Compared with diesel generators, it reduces processing energy costs by over 60%, with annual generation reaching up to 210,000 kWh. Based on typical rice mill production and revenue in Myanmar, the investment can be recovered in 3–4 years, followed by stable long-term cash flow.

Seamless Backup for Uninterrupted Production:With GoodWe battery output, the hybrid inverter delivers <4 ms on-grid/off-grid switching, preventing production stops caused by outages. This helps reduce equipment failures related to power interruptions, along with unnecessary maintenance and compensation costs.

Built for Heavy Inductive Loads:Optimised for agricultural processing applications, the inverter features exceptional inductive load handling capability (with VSD retrofit, the 150 kW model can reliably drive 120 kW inductive loads, exceeding 80% capacity) and high start-up surge current tolerance (supporting up to double rated power during start-up), making it suitable for all heavy-duty motor equipment in rice mills.

Industrial-Grade Protection and Safety:With IP66 protection, plus safety design such as fire prevention and automatic battery fire suppression, the system is built for harsh, dusty, and humid conditions. Intelligent monitoring and data measurement further support safe and stable long-term operation.

Local Support, Faster Response, Peace of Mind:GoodWe provides localized pre-sales engineering and after-sales O&M support. Solutions are tailored to local conditions with prompt response times, enabling customers to purchase with confidence and operate with peace of mind.

GoodWe’s Commitment to Myanmar’s Solar Future

This project shows how tailored solar-plus-storage solutions can unlock productivity even where grid infrastructure is weak. By combining reliability, strong economics, and industrial-grade durability, GoodWe is helping Myanmar’s rice mills move toward more stable, efficient, and sustainable operations.

“We are fully prepared to support this project and contribute to solar growth across Myanmar,” said Henry, Country Manager of GoodWe Myanmar. As a trusted partner in C&I energy storage, GoodWe will continue to deliver resilient, efficient, and future-ready solutions—empowering industries worldwide to embrace sustainability and move toward a greener future.
