The company expands its energy storage strategy in Brazil by combining innovative business models with double-conversion technology designed for critical commercial and industrial applications


São Paulo, September 2026 - GoodWe strengthened its energy storage strategy in Brazil during Intersolar South America 2026, presenting a broader approach to BESS deployment that combines energy storage technology, project engineering and new commercial models. 


Among the key highlights were GoodWe’s Energy-as-a-Service (EaaS) proposition and a new double-conversion energy storage solution for critical loads, combining the ETR 125kW with the BAT-C 261kWh battery system. Together, the two developments address two of the main challenges currently facing the energy storage market: how to technically design the right system for each application and how to make these projects financially viable.

Energy-as-a-Service: Making Energy Storage Projects Financially Viable


One of the key highlights presented by GoodWe was its Energy-as-a-Service (EaaS) proposition, which brings together different business models designed to facilitate the implementation of solar and energy storage projects.


Through specialized service structures, companies can implement energy solutions without relying exclusively on a large upfront investment. Instead, part of the customer's current energy expenditure can be redirected toward a solution designed to deliver long-term savings, reliability and energy availability.


This approach changes the discussion around BESS projects. The decision is no longer limited to selecting the right battery or inverter technology; it also includes identifying the most appropriate commercial and financial structure for each customer.


The model is part of the broader GoodWe BESS Ecosystem, which connects technology, technical expertise, project development tools and support to help transform energy storage opportunities into viable projects.


The implementation process begins with an assessment of the customer's operation and energy consumption profile. From there, GoodWe supports the identification of the most appropriate application, system architecture, technical sizing and integration with solar generation. Depending on the project structure, the implementation can also include financing solutions, EPC, installation, commissioning and ongoing support.


This structure enables GoodWe to support different applications and business needs while creating a clearer path from project identification to implementation.

Double-Conversion Technology for Critical C&I Applications


The second major highlight was GoodWe's new double-conversion solution, developed for applications in which even very short power interruptions can create significant operational, production, safety or financial impacts.


The architecture combines the ETR 125 with the BAT-C 261kWh and is particularly suited to critical-load applications including food processing, aquaculture, refrigeration systems, industrial operations, data centers, healthcare facilities and other environments where energy continuity is essential.

Unlike conventional backup architectures that depend on switching between the grid and an alternative power source, the double-conversion architecture keeps critical loads isolated from grid disturbances. Power supplied to the critical load is continuously managed by the system, allowing voltage and frequency to remain controlled even when disturbances occur on the utility grid. 


Flexible Architecture for Different Energy Challenges


The double-conversion solution also supports the integration of photovoltaic generation and battery storage within the same architecture.


The ETR 125 features 8 or 10 MPPTs, maximum PV input power of 250 kW and DC oversizing of up to 200%, enabling greater use of solar generation across different operating conditions.


Through DC coupling, additional photovoltaic capacity can be incorporated into the system while excess solar generation can be directed to battery storage, increasing self-consumption and reducing wasted energy.


The BAT-C 261 kWh provides a nominal capacity of 261.2 kWh, maximum charging and discharging power of 137.5 kW, 100% depth of discharge, IP55 enclosure protection and liquid cooling.


The system also incorporates multiple layers of safety, including cell- and pack-level monitoring, insulation monitoring, short-circuit and overcurrent protection, pressure-relief mechanisms and fire suppression systems.


From Technology to Real-World Implementation


GoodWe's strategy in Brazil is increasingly focused on moving beyond individual products and developing complete energy solutions for different customer requirements.


Its portfolio supports applications including Solar + Storage, Peak Shaving, Load Shifting, Backup, AC Coupling, DC Coupling and expansion of energy availability, with system architecture defined according to each customer's operational and economic requirements.


A recent example of this approach is the energy system implemented at Rede Nilo supermarket, recognized by Portal Solar as Brazil's largest off-grid retail project. The project integrates GoodWe photovoltaic modules, inverters and batteries in a single energy architecture, demonstrating how generation and storage technologies can be combined to address real operational energy challenges.


By combining its technology portfolio with Energy-as-a-Service business models, project development tools and implementation support, GoodWe aims to make energy storage projects more accessible while supporting customers from the initial energy assessment through system design, implementation and commissioning.
